Hayden Panettiere to Co-Executive Produce Med School Drama

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere is stepping behind the camera to co-executive produce HMS, a new medical drama from The CW, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The ensemble drama, created by Mystic Pizza writer Amy Holden Jones, revolves around a group of Harvard Medical School students. HMS, currently in development, is the Panettiere's first producing credit. 

The show was originally brought to The WB in 2004-2005, but the CW is now hoping to launch a medical drama series in the footsteps of ABC's Grey's Anatomy, THR reports.
