'Scrubs' producer 'keen for Reyes return'

Scrubs producer Bill Lawrence has revealed that he is keen for Judy Reyes to return to the series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the show's creator has previously offered Reyes - Carla on the ABC medical comedy - occasional appearances on the ninth season.

However, Reyes is reportedly only interested in returning on a full-time basis and has declined his offer.

"It was hard for us to wrap our head around why a nurse would be spending so much time around med students," he explained, adding that he hopes to change her mind in the future.

Scrubs returns to ABC for its ninth season on Tuesday, December 1.
