President Barack Obama won't bump Lost, but he may bump American Idol: The
president will deliver his first State of the Union address to a joint session of
Congress on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. ET, the White House announced.
Spokesman Robert Gibbs previously promised not to schedule the speech on
Lost's Feb. 2 season premiere.
The address will be streamed live on WhiteHouse.gov and is expected to be
carried on the major networks. Schedule changes have not been announced yet,
but the speech will conflict with episodes of Fox's Idol, ABC's Modern Family and
Cougar Town, and NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. CBS has a repeat of
Criminal Minds already scheduled.
Calls and e-mails to Fox, ABC and NBC were not immediately returned.
